About

DAVID CHARLES KATZ is a nascent theater and film artist based in the New York metro area. Their current interests are directing, cinematography, and lighting design. Recent directing credits include their senior honors thesis production, Caryl Churchill’s translation of A Dream Play by August Strindberg, and Fool For Love by Sam Shepard. For both of these David was awarded by the Dartmouth College Department of Theater the Clifford S. Gurdin 1964 Memorial Award, recognizing the best student director of the year. Though film is a more recent pursuit of theirs, David has worked in both digital and analogue formats and has familiarized themselves with an array of cameras and softwares. Per their professors and mentors, David “possesses a wonderful spirit of collaboration” and has “brilliant command of theater concepts and language.” They seek to explore multiple crafts across theater and film.
